90’s Nostalgia

With spring here (despite the weather that has us believing winter is currently present), florals and trends for the current season are in full force. Having been someone that had their highschool years throughout the nineties, the revival of 90’s looks has me crushing hard. Old stories, music, and clothing are currently being craved by me as I float through a sea of nostalgia with this trend.

Chokers, darker lips, crops, and denim aside — a trend that I loved but never got to be apart of back-in-the-day was my love for Doc Martens. They were the must-have item in the 90’s. Being someone in highschool at the time, they were out of my price range, but I adore the fact that the brand never lost steam and still continues to be relevant till this day — especially with the nineties decade being so popular.

I luckily had the pleasure of scooping up a pair from Union Jack Boots and have been crushing hard guys, crushing hard. These 1460 Antique floral boots are not only the decade revival I needed, but the floral print on them give the perfect feminine touch.

While pairing them with skinny jeans and a tee would have been perfect, I decided to opt for a body-con dress, denim jacket, and hat for an off-beat cool. After all, dresses with boots or sneakers are everything. The pink and burgundy in the Docs were the perfect accessory and accent to the dress..

Needless to say, I will be relishing in this trend for as long as I can. The best part is the boots will far surpass for years to come — the colours alone will make it easy to pair with anything.

What do you think of the trend? Are you as nineties obsessed as I am?
