Easy Summer Outfit

The further into summer we get, the more effortless I want my attire to be. Perhaps it’s because I’m anticipating fall probably more than I should be (what can I say? It is my favourite season.) and as a result, I’ve become a bit lazy with my outfits due to the hot weather. In short, if I can’t pull it on and go, I probably won’t wear it.

Does that mean that an easy summer outfit can’t be stylish as well? Of course not.

This off-the-shoulder dress has been a staple of mine since last summer. The chambray fabric makes it easy to pair with everything, and the blousy-ness of it makes it incredibly comfortable, too (and hides any indulgent summer eating also, teehee!)

While on most days, I’d probably pull on sandals and a straw bag with this look, this time around I wanted to elevate the look slightly and decided to opt for a pair of fun mules instead. These mules in particular I managed to score on sale from Sophia Webster, a shoe designer, known for her feminine and quirky designs. I, in particular, love all of the colour and texture it adds to the look with the fringe and pastel tweed in the shoes; flirty and fun.

I paired it with a gold straw bag I scooped up from H&M recently and topped it all off with a bold, colourful necklace.

That’s the thing about accessories; they can completely transform a look. I’m constantly on the hunt for jewellery that inspires me. Style tip: opt for accessories with plenty of colour. They’ll allow you to pull colours into your outfits that wouldn’t otherwise make sense on their own, and in general can add a great punch to any look.
