OOTD: How-to Wear A Sweater Dress

Now that we’re transitioning from autumn to winter, all I can pull out of my closet are knits. Honestly, what could be more comfortable?

While there are plenty of traditional knits that are available in stores, I’ve currently been opting for sweater dresses. For women I take personal shopping that are looking to pull-on something chic and go, a sweater dress is the perfect piece to obtain this result. Much like the sundresses many of us easily toss-on in the summer, sweater dresses are just as comfortable and easily worn.

This H&M sweater dress was only $29.00 and is already proving to be a seasonal favourite. I love this garment so much because it can be worn with high boots as shown (whether flat or with heels), ankle booties, flats or stiletto’s. Just think of using leggings, skinny jeans or tights when using shorter shoe options for warmth.

The great thing about these slouchy dresses is that they’re very forgiving, so if you’ve had too much Chinese food and wine the night prior, no problem — this dress will hide any areas you don’t want seen. I also tell my clients
with an hour glass or pear shape to think about wearing a belt at your natural waistline or just under your bust for some additional shape.

To add some fun to this look, I decided to use a Zara blanket scarf as an accessory. It has so many great colours in it for fall and will easily help me pull in another statement favourite of mine this season, these burgundy boots from Le Chateau — I love the unexpected splash of colour!

What do you think of the sweater dress, do you wear them? Will you try one this season?
