OOTD: Winter Pastels

With half of January behind us (is that not crazy?) and spring merely months away, I’ve already begun craving brighter colours. While autumn’s moody hues are fun to play with, light colours are always what makes me happiest.

Since the fashion cycle is always at an odd transition this time of year; being that we’re not ready for spring trends, but past fall, I always like to dress in basics and brighten with soft pastels in winter. For example, this pink duster jacket was an item I scooped up from Dynamite during the fall and often paired it with black and deeper tones during that time. However, here I’ve decided to layer it over-top of a pair of skinny jeans and a light grey tee to keep things easy. Pink shoes to match and a pastel clutch keep the outfit light and slightly elevated without being fussy.

I love the pop of blue the clutch provides and love the 3-D flowers it has on it. Pieces that are unique are always my favourite to play with in my closet.

Do you like pastels during the winter-time? How do you like to wear them?
