Cult Gaia Small Ark Bag: Spring’s It Bag

If you’ve logged onto Instagram recently, I’m sure you’ve seen a blogger at some point in time discussing the season’s must-have bag: Cult Gaia’s Small Ark Bag. Beautifully designed, this Japanese bamboo bag adds a hint of boho chic to any look without going over the top. While I appreciate bohemian looks, it’s definitely not the core of my style, so adopting it every now and again in an accessory is perfect for me.

When I first saw the bag myself, I have to admit that I honestly didn’t think I’d style it with much. I pictured flowing maxi skirts and dresses to be it’s perfect garment pairing. However, when this piece was dropped off at my door, I’ve been stunned about how many times I’ve opted to use this beauty each time I step outside.

I shouldn’t have been surprised really, bamboo is basically a neutral washed-out tan colour, so it essentially goes with everything — and with spring and summer colours being so vibrant, it’s the perfect subtle companion to complete a look.

I choose to wear a lot of blue hues with it in the pictures here, and loved how it looked with simple jeans and a tunic (okay, it’s suppose to be a dress, but I’m too tall and it turned into a tunic for me). Instead of keeping the blue theme with the bag, I grabbed a colourful scarf and tied it around the handles of the bag. WOW. The small addition to the bag made me fall twice as hard for it. I loved that I could do that with any scarf and have it instantly help tie the purse into any look (Elle Woods, anyone?)

Needless to say, I completely get the Instagram obsession with this piece. It’s been talked about everywhere, and for good reason.

What do you think of the bag; would you wear it?
