OOTD: Effortless Basics

One thing I’m a big advocate for are basics in every woman’s closet. Having the right basics will not only ensure that you have versatility, but will also give you the ability to create new outfits with fun, trendy pieces as well. I, myself love basics that have a bit of a twist to them. While I love the trends, incorporating them in subtle doses, for most part, has been my style.

Having effortless basics in my closet or things I can grab easily and wear knowing I still look put together is essential to me. Demim, a favourite go-to of mine, and a button-up blouse are often re-occuring pieces I rotate in outfits.

This blouse I scooped up from ASOS is one I currently wear all of the time. The light blue is a beautiful change from the classic white blouse and the patchwork keeps things playful while adding a touch of colour to my look. Grabbing a pair of skinny jeans kept the look comfortable and low-key. While I could have worn this look with sneakers, I decided to step it up a notch by grabbing a pair of gold pumps, a colourful clutch, and throwing on a bold lip. The lazy-girl in me didn’t want to bother or fuss with my hair (as is the case on most mornings), so putting it in a top-knot was the perfect, low-maintenance solution.
